# API Overview

> Conventions and standards

The Credibill API is organized around REST. Our API has predictable resource-oriented URLs, accepts form-encoded request bodies, returns JSON-encoded responses, and uses standard HTTP response codes, authentication, and verbs.

## Base URL

All API requests should be made to:

```bash theme={null}
https://giant-goldfish-922.convex.site/api
```

## Authentication

The Credibill API uses API keys to authenticate requests. You can view and manage your API keys in the Credibill Dashboard.

## Pagination

All top-level API resources have support for bulk fetches via "list" API methods. For instance, you can list customers, subscriptions, and invoices. These list API methods share a common structure, taking at least these two parameters: `limit` and `starting_after`.

## Errors

Credibill uses conventional HTTP response codes to indicate the success or failure of an API request. In general:

* Codes in the `2xx` range indicate success.
* Codes in the `4xx` range indicate an error that failed given the information provided (e.g., a required parameter was omitted, a charge failed, etc.).
* Codes in the `5xx` range indicate an error with Credibill's servers.
